The Marching Royal Dukes are the marching band for the great institution of James Madison University. The MRDs perform at all JMU home football games, select away games, and community events in the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding region. The Dukes also perform as an exhibition band at several high school venues, most notably the JMU Parade of Champions, held each year in Bridgeforth Stadium. The band has an impressive performance history, including appearances at NFL games, Bands of Americ and USSBA events, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (2001, 2008, 2013), as well as 5 trips abroad.
