Karin Frost a créé le porte-bébé ultime en fonction de ses propres besoins de maman. Son idée était de créer un porte-bébé qui préserverait le développement vertébral de l‘enfant tout en limitant la pression exercée sur le dos et les épaules du parent porteur. Elle a perfectionné sa création au moyen de l'aide et des commentaires d'autres parents partageant les mêmes besoins pour leurs nourrissons et jeunes enfants. En 2003, elle a fait de son rêve une réalité. Karin a commencé à s'approvisionner en tissus fabriqués par des entreprises adoptant, comme elle, une approche privilégiant la responsabilité sociale et l'écologie. Son premier porte-bébé, le modèle Original, fut fabriqué entièrement en coton. Ce modèle lavable en machine comportait déjà de la mousse haute densité dans les bretelles et la ceinture ainsi qu'un appui-tête. Le porte-bébé était uniquement proposé au moyen du site Web, le bouche-à-oreille et la fidélisation de clients satisfaits firent le reste.
