Former US President Donald Trump has been indicted again and insists he is innocent again.
Trump was previously indicted in March on criminal charges related to his alleged payments to adult entertainer Stormy Daniels. This new indictment concerns his handling of classified documents after his presidency, with federal prosecutors accusing Trump of violating the Espionage Act.
He has been summoned to appear in federal court in Miami on Tuesday at 3pm ET and is reportedly facing at least seven charges(opens in a new tab). This allegedly includes the deliberate withholding of national defense information, obstruction of justice(opens in a new tab), conspiracy and making false statements. In response to the charges brought against him, Trump has made several posts on his social network Truth Social.

“I AM AN INNOCENT MAN,” Trump wrote as the news broke Thursday night (emphasis original). “THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION IS TOTALLY CORRUPT. THIS IS ELECTION INTERFERENCE AND A CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT EVER. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
He also released a four-minute video in which he called the indictment “a hoax” and “a war,” expressing his outraged claim that the charges against him have no merit and are just a ploy by Democrats designed by curb its popularity. Trump’s views were echoed in clips he later shared from conservative outlets Fox News and Newsmax, which criticized his impeachment.

Trump’s previous indictment in March made him the first former US president in history to face criminal charges. This second accusation now places him even further into an incredibly dubious category.
