Mars Growth Capital today announced its plans to provide up to $250 million in debt funding for European startups, offering a significant boost for the continent’s tech sector. This new initiative, which is backed by leading venture capital firms and supported by the European Investment Fund (EIF), is part of the European Commission’s efforts to promote the digital transformation of the European economy.
The newly established investment fund will be managed by the newly established joint-venture between Mars Growth Capital, the EIF, and two prominent venture capital firms in Europe, Index Ventures and Northzone. The new company will provide dept financing to high growth European startups to help them reach their goals faster with less dilution. With experience extending into venture capital, corporate finance and asset management strategies, Ikaroa Group will manage investments on behalf of the fund.
